In 1995, Jeannie made a pivotal decision to formally explore the traditional music of her heritage—a choice that marked the beginning of a transformative new chapter. She soon became an active part of Toronto’s Greek music community, joining the acclaimed Galaxy Orchestra under the direction of Ken Kakoulis. With the band, she performed at major dances and travelled internationally, including memorable shows in Maracay, Venezuela.

As her network grew, Jeannie collaborated with band leader Dinos Karambelas, performing at the Canadian National Exhibition and touring Canada’s West Coast with the renowned John Katevas, a celebrated figure in Greek folk music. During this period, she also met Nick Kutsukos, and together they would go on to share the stage in future musical projects.
